Pathankot: Coming down heavily on Pakistan, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said if the country would not allow a National Investigation Agency (NIA) team to visit there for probe into the Pathankot airbase attack, it would be considered as ‘treachery’ to India.

Furthermore, Singh said Jammu and Kashmir had never been an issue between the two countries and that the prime issue was Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The Home Minister was addressing a gathering of prominent personalities and intellectuals in Pathankot of Punjab.

What else the Home Minister said:

  • Pakistan has not yet given permission to NIA to visit there.
  • I will be treachery to India if the NIA team is not allowed to visit the neighbouring country.
  • It was mutually agreed that after the visit of the Pakistani investigators to India, a team of the NIA would also visit Pakistan.
  • The motive was to investigate and interrogate some people.
