Lucknow: In an attempt to save several ‘big fishes’ who were involved in illegal mining, the Uttar Pradesh government is planning to file a special leave petition (SLP) against the Allahabad High Court order of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the illegal mining case.

Highly placed sources here told newztrack.com, that the government is gathering legal logistics in this regard and is likely to file the SLP in the Supreme Court against the order of Allahabad High Court which came on July 28 last, very soon.

Earlier, the Allahabad High Court had on Thursday last ordered CBI probe into illegal mining in the state. The Court had asked the Central investigative agency to submit its preliminary report within 6 weeks in respect of illegal mining in the entire state and involvement of official nexus.

A lot of eye-brows were raised over the rampant mining across the state and fingers were raised on Mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati. It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had also held charge of the mining department for about two years.
