Hriday Narayan Dikshit may be the new UP Assembly Speaker!

Lucknow: Amid uncertainty over the name of next Chief Minister in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is believed to have given nod to make senior party leader Hriday Narayan Dikshit as the Speaker of the 17th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh.

Sources close to the party informed newstrack.com that a decision has been taken in this regard and a formal announcement will be made soon.

Dikshit, during his long association with the party,has handled a number of assignments including that of the leader of the party in UP Legislative Council and other organizational posts.

Why Hriday Narayan as UP Assembly Speaker?

• He has been six times MLA.
• He is known to have sound knowledge of parliamentary affairs.
• He had served as minister of parliamentary affairs when BJP was in power.
• He is well-versed with the rules and practices of the Legislative Assembly.
