HRD Ministry hikes IITs fees from Rs 90,000 to Rs 2 lakh
New Delhi: The Human Resource Development Ministry has decided to hike the annual fees for undergraduate course in Indian Institutes of Technology from existing Rs 90,000 to Rs two lacs from upcoming academic session.
This decision to hike the fee by over two-fold was taken by the HRD Ministry following a proposal by an IIT panel, HRD ministry officials confirmed.
Although the fees was hiked by over two-fold, there will be a 100% fee waiver for those belonging to weaker sections of society, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled tribes and the differently abled students.
