New Delhi: The Hindu Mahasabha president swami Chakrapani met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Monday and submitted a memorandum demanding early construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya.

It follows distribution and pasting of poster in different parts of Lucknow threatening to vote against the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in the assembly elections in UP if steps were not taken to build the temple by the end of the current year.

Talking to media persons, later, he said “ we have waited for long. The wait should be over now. If this does not happen the BJP will suffer. How long will god ram live under the tarpaulin cover?
