HC raps Akhilesh govt on Yash Bharati awards to Yadavs 

Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Friday took Samajwadi Party (SP) government of Uttar Pradesh to task for conferring honours to a particular section of the society.

The division bench comprising of justice A P Shahi and A R Massod while hearing the public interest litigation (PIL) filed by suspended Indian Police Service officer Amitabh Thakur, expressed their surprise that the government itself invited applications from the citizens who wanted to be honoured.
