Akhilesh Yadav dubs surfacing of Hardik Patel CD as BJP's conspiracy

Lucknow: After resignation of Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Commission (UPSSSC) Chairman Raj Kishore Yadav, the heat of Yogi government has shifted to various appointments by Akhilesh Yadav in Etawah, Mainpuri and Kannauj where persons were posted on pure 'political' merit even in the medical colleges and engineering colleges.

The focus on these appointments has gone even keener and sharper following direct mention of CM Yogi Adityanath which he made on Wednesday last about positing of specialist doctors in Saifai and Kannauj. Out of these, one appointment was of Prof Neelam Srivastava, who was made director of state engineering college of Kannauj in the parliamentary constituency of Dimple Yadav, wife of former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav.

Prof. Neelam Srivastava was appointed, on the behest of Samajwadi Party leadership, a day before the election code of conduct was imposed in the state allegedly ignoring the norms of seniority and efficiency. She, in fact, was relieved by Vice Chancellor of Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Prof Vinay Pathak in a huff contrary to normal practice of being relieved by the registrar of the university. Prof Vinay Pathak, who had also blessings of the political masters despite his questionable credentials, had no satisfactory answer to this as to why he had to do it.

She, as a professor in state-owed Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), has not held the charge of headship before but was pitched as the director owing to 'some' propositions. According to sources, the immediate requirements in Kannauj engineering college are related to lot of civil works and recruitment which more often remained under cloud in SP regime.

Prof. Neelam Srivastava, already holding the charge of Chief project Coordinator (CPC) in one of the most ambitious world bank-run projects namely Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) whose second phase is coming to an end on a rather dis-satisfactory note which the Centre has already expressed taking the project into its hands divesting the state of all powers.

Meanwhile, the sources in the Technical Education department said that all the appointments made by the previous government just before the elections would naturally be under scanner. It may be recalled that the department has already made its presentation before the Chief Minister Yogi on Tuesday last.
