It has been no secret that Singhal was appointed the CS not to the liking of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Appointment of Singhal had also raised many eyebrows given his not so clean image

Lucknow: In a sudden development, Uttar Pradesh government, on Tuesday, removed Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal and posted Rahul Bhatnagar as the new CS.

The 1983 batch IAS officer, Rahul Bhatnagar was the Principal Secretary Finance in UP government. He has also been given an additional charge of resident commissioner at New Delhi.

It has been no secret that Singhal was appointed the CS not to the liking of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Appointment of Singhal had also raised many eyebrows given his not so clean image.

Singhal had taken charge of the post in July.
