Former IAS officer gets BSP assembly ticket from Mohanlalganj

Lucknow: Former Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Ram Bahadur has been offered a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) assembly ticket from the Mohanlalganj reserved constituency of Lucknow.

BSP general secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui formally announced his candidature on Thursday at a workers convention organized in Mohanlalgang area.

  • Bahadur is a 1977 batch PCS officer.
  • He retired from services in December last.
  • During his stint as vice-chairman, Lucknow Development Authority in the previous Mayawati regime, had led an exercise on June 18, 2008 to demolish part of Shahara Shaher.
  • Bahadur is said to have been active member of Backward (SC, ST, OBC) and Minority Communities Employees Federation (BAMCEF), BSP's parent organisation founded by Kanshiram in 1971.
