Bjp leader booked over controversial poster of Keshav Maurya

Varanasi: The controversial poster featuring Keshav Prasad Maurya, prepared by Bhartiya Janata Party local leader Rupesh Pandey has led him into legal trouble. An FIR has been lodged against BJP leader Rupesh Pandey under sections 153A, 66A IT act, 500 (defamation) and 469 of Indian Penal Code, on Friday night. The Samajwadi Party leaders were on their toes to get their complaint registered and they staged a demonstration at the police station.

Keshav reaches Varanasi:

  • After being elected as UP BJP cheif Maurya reached Varanasi and instructed the local unit to probe in the matter.
  • Keshav told media that he was not aware of any such controversial poster. and he will get them removed.

The controversial poster showing Keshav as an incarnation of Lord Krishna was floated by BJP leader Rupesh Pandey in parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rupesh Pandey:

  • Rupesh pandey, the local BJP leader in a telephonic interaction with newztrack.com told that it was his faith and belief behind the poster.
  • Pandey said, "the poster is based on my personal perception and has nothing to do with the party."
