Emirates flight crashlands at Dubai airport damaging craft

New Delhi: In a providential escape, all 275 passengers and crew escaped unhurt after an Emirates flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai crash landed at the Dubai International Airport on Wednesday.

The aircraft caught fire midway and emergency services were pressed into the service while all the passengers and crew were evacuated safely, the Emirates media said.

Pictures purported on social media showed that a thick black smoke was seen coming out of the flight-EK 521.

The aircraft has suffered heavy damage.

The incident happened at 1245 hours.

Emirates can confirm that an incident happened at Dubai International Airport on 3rd August 2016 at about 12.45pm local time.
