New Delhi: The Indian nationals will soon be able to drive on the country roads without having to carry their driving licenses and registration certificates (RCs) by keeping the documents’ soft copies in DigiLocker.

These documents kept in the ‘national digital locker’ can be verified by traffic police as well as other law enforcing agencies whenever required. The secured system will be launched by the transport and Information Technology (IT) ministers on Wednesday.

“DigiLockers will help the citizens to keep all their important documents at one place. They just need to have the adhaar card linked to their mobile phone numbers for registration,” said an IT official.
