Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is too decent a person to take offensive on minor misdemeanours of senior officers but some off the cuff public remarks of the Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal has annoyed him to a great deal.

''UP CM has certainly not taken some of the comments of the Chief Secretary in his stride especially those were made at public functions and in front of sizable audiences,'' the sources very very close to the Chief Minister told newstrack.com. The inconsistent public speech of Singhal has offended senior officers on many occasions but his sarcastic comments, may be inadvertent at times, has targeted even the CM, latest being on Wednesday when he gestured the latter to keep quiet and listen to him.

The high-octane behaviour of the new chief secretary has been a source of gossiping among the bureaucracy ever since he assumed the charge last month but his 'slip of tongue' on a regular basis has even made the Chief Minister take notice and express his annoyance.

It was during the Kanya Vidyadhan Distribution function in the state when CM was speaking with his advisor Alok Ranjan. Deepak Singhal, who was on the mike, did not think twice to calling Ranjan asking both to including the CM to listen to him. They may have smiled away but the sources said the CM did not like it. Earlier also, at another function in Shravasti , Singhal said the CM had child-like heart as well as brain.

According to some of senior officers, his no-hold-barred language has stunned them on many occasions mostly during the official meetings. His off the hook comments about two of senior officers, both close to the Chief Minister, have already doing round in the officialdom, certainly not in palatable way. His 'I am the only Boss' attitude has left many officers jittery.

Another officer of DM level recounts how was he humiliated when he had gone to meet him without prior appointment. Also, his statement that he could send IAS and IPS officers to jail has also left a bad taste in the mouths of his colleagues.

It is no secret that he was not the first choice of the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for the post of the chief secretary and his constant efforts to keep him in good humour end in fiasco, almost every time.
