Delhi Crime Branch arrests PA of SP MP Munawwar Saleem for espionage
The Delhi Crime Branch has arrested the personal assistant, Farhat, of Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Munawwar Saleem, on the charge of espionage from his residence in the national capital on Saturday.
New Delhi: The Delhi Crime Branch has arrested the personal assistant, Farhat, of Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Munawwar Saleem, on the charge of espionage from his residence in the national capital on Saturday.
According to official sources some sensitive documents of Defence and external affair departments have been recovered from his possession. The MP may also be quizzed by the security agencies in this connection. It was also alleged that transaction of money was involved in exchange of documents.

It came a couple of day after the staffer of Pakistan High Commission was detained for similar charges. The MP Munawwar Saleem could not be reached despite repeated efforts by Newstrack correspondent.
Meanwhile, the SP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that he should be punished if found guilty. He made it clear that the party had nothing to do with his misendeavours.
