Congress MLA blames Prime Minister Modi for jail torture

Varanasi: Congress MLA, Ajay Rai, who was jailed for violence in the ‘Anyay Pratekaar Yatra’ on Oct 5 last, alleged that he was tortured in the jail at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Uttar Pradesh government.

Rai was in Fatehgarh for the last seven months and was released recently. While talking to media, Rai levelled serious charges against Modi and the state government.

What Rai alleged?

• He was forced to sleep on floor even after doctor advised him to sleep on hard bed due to sciatica.
• He was given cold water to bathe in winter.
• Rai was not taken to the doctors for three months.

Wants Priyanka to be the face of Congress:

On a query. Rai expressed his desire that Priyanka should be the face of Congress for the 2017 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Jailed on asking the Modi’s election expenses:

Coming heavily upon Modi, Rai said he was jailed for asking the money spent by Modi in last Lok Sabha elections.

He also alleged that he was approached by some person inside the jail to take back the petition.
