Congress calls off Varanasi road show midway as Sonia takes ill
Varanasi: The Congress party called off its Varanasi road-show midway as party president Sonia Gandhi suffered high fever. Sonia is now returning to the national capital.
It may be mentioned that Sonia reached Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency on Tuesday morning to participate in the massive road show.
Before taking ill, the 69-year-old party president stood in an SUV for several hours to greet the large score of people gathered at the road show while her cavalcade was moving slowly on the city roads.
"Sonia complained of dehydration and high blood pressure," sources said.
