CM prevails in getting Manzil posted back as SSP, Lucknow

Lucknow: Finally, the confusion was removed and the posting of Manzil Saini as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Lucknow has been confirmed , though again through a tweet of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's office.

'' There was some confusion over her posting which was done last evening but later stayed owing to some reasons other than administrative,'' the sources close to the CM told newztrack .com on the condition of anonymity .

The 2005-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, who was SSP of Etawh, the native district of Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav, was given new posting on Monday evening. So much of importance was attached to it that the Chief Minister Office and UP DGP Javeed Ahmad had tweeted about her posting only even as about 50 IPS were transferred. Soon after the news spread that the present incumbent Rajesh Pandey had already been removed, the transfer of Manzil was stayed which she herself confirmed to newztrack.com late Monday night. Not only this, the official twitter handle of Chief Minister also deleted the tweet about her posting.

It was again the tweet of CM office on Tuesday afternoon which confirmed that she would be the new SSP of Lucknow. She is likley to take over by today evening.

According to the sources, one section of the ruling party wanted her to stay back at Etawah where she had been doing commendable work. Despite the decision of the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav , her posting as SSP, Lucknow was stopped for a while.

The reports doing round in the bureaucratic circles suggest that the decision of the CM could only be stalled at the behest of the top leadership of the party.Since the issue involved Etawah, the native district of Mulayam and Akhilesh, no officer was forthcoming to comment.
