New Delhi: The monsoon session of the parliament is likely to take place from July 18 to August 12, though the final decision in this regard will be taken at the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) to be taken place on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The meeting of CCPA will be held after the Cabinet meeting to be attended by among others the Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

There is a thought process to extend the session beyond August 12 because Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants all the MPs to be present during his Independence Day address from the Red Fort on August 15 but it looks difficult.

The CCPA will discuss all these aspects during its meet to finalise the dates.

Meanwhile, sources said that Venkaiah Naidu will also meet all the ministers after the Cabinet meeting.
