Jaunpur: A local court on Saturday pronounced capital punishment to terror accused Mohammad Alamgir alias Roni in the 11-year-old Shramjeevi Express bomb blast case.

The additional District Judge (first) Budhiram Yadav handed punishment to one accused while the quantum of sentence to another convict Obaidurrahman alias Babu Bhai will be pronounced on August 2 next. The court on Friday had held two persons guilty of the terror act.

It may be mentioned that 14 people were killed and 90 others were injured in the bomb blast that occurred in Shramjeevi Express near Juanpur in Uttar Pradesh on July 28, 2005.

It took 11 years for the lower court to conduct the trial in sensational case of terror attack.
