UP ATS arrests another Babbar Khalsa operative from Unnao

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Wednesday night arrested dreaded Babbar Khalsa operative Jaswant Singh aka Kala from Unnao district, said a police official on Thursday.

The ATS had received the information about Kala from Balwant Singh, another Babbar Khalsa member, who was arrested from Aishbagh locality of the state capital earlier in the day on Wednesday, said IG ATS Asim Arun.

Jaswant, who belongs to Punjab's Muktsar district, was nabbed in a raid at the Bhalla Farm house in Sohramau police station area of Unnao, the IG added.

Punjab and Rajasthan police were on a lookout for Jaswant in various cases including, murder. Earlier, Balwant was traced by UP ATs on a tip-off from the Punjab Police.

The IG asserted that the future course of action against both the Babbar Khalsa operatives would be decided after producing them before the court.

The ATS team members including team leader Avinash Chandra Mishra, SI Himanshu Nigam, SI Arvind Singh, constables Arvind Singh, Jitendra Singh and Balendra Singh and the commando unit will be rewarded for their commendable job, announced IG ATS.
