UP CM Akhilesh Yadav suspends SSP Gorakhpur with three SHOs

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday suspended senior superintendant of police (SSP) Gorakhpur Anant Dev as well as three station house officers (SHOs) for mishandling land-dispute cases and failing to check crime.

According to sources, CM had earlier asked Dev to be stern in controlling the law and order situation but, the officer did not pay much heed to the CM’s order.

Highlights:

• Sources said the CM had earlier received many complaints against Dev.
• CM had several times warned the SSP but, all his warnings went in vain.
