Akhilesh Yadav jibes at Mayawati; calls BSP ‘haathi wali party’

Etah: Contrary to the words of praise by Rahul Gandhi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday slammed the Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati by saying that her government masters only in constructing elephant statues.

Defining the Mayawati’s BSP as ‘Hathi Wali Party’, the Samajwadi Party President said that if it comes to power in Uttar Pradesh, only ‘Haathis’ will be built in parks and roads in the name of development.

Addressing a rally in Etah (Aliganj), Akhilesh launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections.

Akhilesh said that there is nothing new in BJP’s manifesto as the schemes promised in it have been already running in the state.

Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the UP CM warned people to stay away from people who do ‘mann ki baat’ as ‘mann’ is ‘chanchal’.

It may be mentioned that Rahul Gandhi had on Sunday said that BSP government might have committed mistakes but he personally respect Mayawati and she can never be compared with BJP.

What else Akhilesh said?

  • There is nothing new in the BJP manifesto. It was copied from ours.
  • Be cautious of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he only believes in doing ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
  • We have promised daily doses of milk, ghee for the young girls and pressure cookers for women.

Uttar Pradesh will witness seven-phase polling between February 11 and March 8. The results will be announced on March 11.
