New Delhi: Today is National Youth Day on Tuesday, on this occasion Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the closing ceremony of the second National Youth Parliament Festival through video conference. During this time, three national winners of the festival will also put forth their views. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) gave this information on Sunday.

Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary is celebrated as 'National Youth Day'

Significantly, January 12 is the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, which is celebrated as National Youth Day. This year, along with the National Youth Festival, NYPF is also being organized. According to the news from the PMO, the National Youth Festival is held every year from 12 to 16 January.

'National Youth Day' LIVE UPDATE…

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it was Swami Vivekananda, who said at that time that fearless, frank, clean-hearted, courageous and aspirational youth is the foundation on which the future of the nation is built. He believed so much in youth, on youth power.

Addressing the National Youth Parliament Festival, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that as time passed, the country became independent, but we still see today, Swamiji's influence is still the same.

- What he said about spirituality, what he said about nationalism - nation building, his thoughts about public service and jagseva flow in our mind-temple today with the same intensity.

- Swami Vivekananda has given another precious gift. It is a gift to build individuals, to build institutions. It is rarely discussed.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in conference:

According to an official source, the National Youth Parliament Festival(NYPF) aims to voice the views of youth between 18 and 25 years of age who are entitled to vote and will be involved in various services including public services in the coming years. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Central Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju will also be present on the occasion.
