Weather Updates: IMD issues heavy rain alert in Karnataka

New Delhi: The weather may again deteriorate in many areas of the country. The reason for this is the Western Disturbance. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in many states of the country. So there are snowfall in many areas of Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir while it is raining in Mumbai.

Yellow Alert in South India:

The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert in the coastal and Malnad regions of Karnataka. There is a possibility of heavy rains in many areas of Karnataka. An alert has been issued by the Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority in Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamangaluru, Hassan, Kodagu and Shivamogga for the next two days. Thunderstorms are expected to occur in most areas of the state during 48 hours and heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places.

Snowfall in hilly states

The high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand are experiencing continuous snowfall. Heavy snowfall in Kashmir has led to disastrous life. With this, air services have also been affected. In many areas of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand, mercury has gone below zero.

Due to western disturbances in Madhya Pradesh it may rain. The Meteorological Department has said that there may be rain in Hoshangabad division and different areas of Sehore, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Ujjain and Dewas districts till Friday morning.

The minimum temperature was minus 1.0 degree Celsius in Mount Abu, Rajasthan. Due to western disturbance, the temperature in Uttar Pradesh will fall once again. Due to this, the area will get cold. According to the Meteorological Department, due to western disturbance, the increase in temperature in Uttar Pradesh will soon stop and due to this the region will get cold.
