New Delhi: The heavy rainfall in several parts of the country has had a significant impact on daily life. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have been hit hard by the downpour, resulting in adverse conditions due to continuous rains and landslides. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, Eastern Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Central Maharashtra, and South Gujarat. These seven states have been put under Orange Alert due to the possibility of heavy rainfall.

Today, Uttar Pradesh is also likely to experience torrential rainfall in many areas, especially in Western Uttar Pradesh. The capital city, Delhi, is expected to witness cloudy skies and a possibility of thunderstorms with rain.

Possibility of Heavy Rainfall in the Following States:

According to the weather department, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Western Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Marathwada, Saurashtra and Kutch, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, and Coastal and Southern Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe, are likely to experience heavy rainfall today.

Adverse Weather Conditions in Several States:

The states of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi-Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Jharkhand are likely to experience strong winds and rain.

Rain with Strong Winds:

North-eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are also warned of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. In Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Puducherry, and Karaikal, wind speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour could be expected, and there is a possibility of falling trees and disruptions in electricity supply.

Delhi's Flood Woes:

Several areas in Delhi are already struggling with the rising water levels of the Yamuna River. The news of further increase in water levels has raised concerns among the residents. The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert for the capital, predicting moderate rain along with thunderstorms.

SkyMet Weather Forecast:

As per SkyMet Weather, South-eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, some parts of Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Goa and Konkan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands might experience light to moderate rain, with some areas expecting heavy rainfall.

States where Light to Moderate Rain is Forecasted:

Western Madhya Pradesh, some parts of Delhi, Haryana, Northern Punjab, Southern Gujarat, Bihar, Western Bengal, Jharkhand, Southern Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Southern Telangana, Marathwada, Central Maharashtra, and Kerala are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall. Northern and Eastern Rajasthan, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Lakshadweep might experience light showers.
