Alert for Intense Cold and Dense Fog in Several States, Rain Expected in Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi: Several states in Northern India are currently gripped by intense cold. A drop in temperatures has been recorded in the capital, Delhi, as well as in various other states. The weather department predicts that the cold will intensify in the coming days. Severe cold is expected in Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and the capital, Delhi. The possibility of a cold wave in these regions is high.

Additionally, an alert for dense fog has been issued in various parts of the country. Dense to very dense fog is anticipated in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar during the next 24 hours. A rain and hailstorm alert has been issued for 10 districts in Uttar Pradesh today. Improvement in the weather is expected in the state from Thursday. However, relief from the intense cold is not anticipated at the moment.

**Rain Forecast in 10 Districts of Uttar Pradesh**

The weather pattern in various parts of Uttar Pradesh has been disrupted in recent days. Since January 3, there has been intermittent rainfall in different parts of the state. On Tuesday, even the capital, Lucknow, witnessed drizzling in the afternoon, causing inconveniences for the residents. The weather department has issued alerts for rain and hailstorm in 10 districts of Uttar Pradesh today. Improvement in the state's weather is expected from Thursday. However, people may not find relief from the intense cold immediately.

**Weather Conditions in Delhi: Possibility of Light Rain**

According to the forecast by the weather department, there is a possibility of clouds in Delhi today. Along with this, a warning for light rain in various parts of the city has been issued. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 9.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Earlier, on Monday, Delhi experienced intense cold, with the minimum temperature dropping to 5.3 degrees Celsius. According to the weather department, Delhi is not expected to get relief from the intense cold for the next 7 days. The minimum temperature in Delhi is expected to remain around 8 degrees Celsius today.

**Cold Day Situation in Several States**

According to Skymet Weather, some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar may experience very dense fog today. Serious cold day conditions may be observed in some parts of Punjab. A Cold Day condition is likely to persist in the state of Rajasthan today. On Tuesday, the state witnessed a Cold Day situation in five cities, including the capital, Jaipur.

**Possibility of Rain in South India**

According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain is expected in South Konkan, Goa, and Central Maharashtra today. There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places with light to moderate rain in the interior regions of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and coastal Karnataka. Light rain is expected in one or two places in South Andhra Pradesh.
