Weather Update: Snowfall over hills, Rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand

New Delhi: The weather activity has intensified in the hill states of the country. According to the India Meteorological Department, the widespread effect of this disturbance will start showing not only in the hills but also in the plains. In the latest seasonal change, clouds have started appearing in the sky in the mountainous states of North India and Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim via Tibet, Northeast states of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal etc. A circulation is over South-East Uttar Pradesh and Assam, which is not effective. Apart from this, there is a circulation over Rajasthan, whose effect will be seen in the plains of North India. The sky is very clear over Central India and South India, and no change is visible here even in the coming 24 to 48 hours.

Rain in Himachal & Kashmir:

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand along with Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir in the mountainous regions of North India on December 26. Generally, light to moderate rainfall is forecast, so there may be heavy rain at some places.

Especially, rain and snowfall are forecast at many places in this entire region including Srinagar, Kulgam, Qazigund, Gulmarg, Kullu-Manali. The Meteorological Department is also instructing tourists going on holidays in these areas to be prepared for any adverse situation. It is being instructed not to ignore the advisory of the local administration and tourist guide.

There is a possibility of rain in the next 24 hours in the mountainous areas including low-lying areas of Uttarakhand, which will intensify further. Along with this, snowfall is also being predicted.
