Weather Alert: IMD forecasts heavy rain in many States

New Delhi: While people in the country are suffering from heat, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for many states. Delhiites can get some relief from the heat after April 16.

Rain alert in Delhi-NCR:

According to the department, light rain may occur in some areas of Delhi on April 16 in the next week. Due to western disturbances on April 16, the sky may remain cloudy. Most parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Odisha are expected to receive heavy rains with thunderstorms.

There is a possibility of storm in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The people of Delhi may get some relief from the heat after 16 April. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain may occur in some areas of Delhi on April 16 in the next week. Due to western disturbances on April 16, the sky may remain cloudy.

According to the Skymet Weather report, mercury is expected to remain up to 30 degrees for a few days with this pre-monsoon activity in Delhi NCR.

Talking about the weather in South India, an alert has been issued in different parts of Kerala. Rainfall has also been forecast in other parts of South India including Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu on 15 April. Heavy rains are expected on 16 April in the southern and coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, coastal and southern remote areas of Kerala, Mahe and Karnataka.

Western Disturbance in Himachal:

Due to the effect of western disturbance in the Himalayan region, rain is expected till April 17. The Himalayan region is expected to receive heavy rains between April 15 and 17. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there are chances of storm in many areas of the state. According to the department, a strong wind can move at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour with rain.
