Weather Update: Light scattered rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand & Himachal Pradesh

New Delhi: One after another western disturbance is continuing over parts of North India. This will be seen in the coming times as well, due to which snowfall on the mountains and rain in the plains is going to continue. Due to the effect of the disturbance which is active at present, the mountainous areas are cloudy from Kashmir to Himachal and Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad to Uttarakhand.

Weather Update:

Talking about the plains, there are no clouds at the moment. However, fog will be affected at many places from Punjab to Haryana, parts of Delhi and all parts of Uttar Pradesh, especially in central and parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Due to the advance of Western Disturbance, today ie on 7th February, the weather will be clearly visible in the mountains. Rain and snow can be seen at isolated places over Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad and Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain and snow warning till 7 February 2022 in Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of Uttarakhand.

Rain and snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti:

On the other hand, along with the districts, rain and snowfall have created havoc in many other parts of the state as well. Roads are closed at many places in Tehri, Uttarkashi, Almora, Nainital and Pauri. At some places, the supply of essential goods including water and electricity has also been affected.

At the same time, according to the Meteorological Center Shimla, there is a forecast of bad weather from 6 to 10 February in the central and upper mountain parts of Himachal Pradesh. On February 8 and 9, there is a possibility of rain and snow at many places. At the same time, there is a yellow alert of thunderstorms for the plains. The risk of avalanche has also increased after heavy snowfall in Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti districts and other hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh. Talking about the plains of the country, mainly dry weather is forecast over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. In all these areas, the wind will blow from the north-west direction.
