Weather Update: IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR & Mumbai

According to IMD, many areas of Delhi-NCR and Mumbai may receive heavy rains on Sunday and Monday as well.

New Delhi: There is no hope of getting relief even after heavy rains in Delhi and its surrounding areas on Saturday. Same is the case with Mumbai. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for both the states. According to IMD, many areas of Delhi-NCR and Mumbai may receive heavy rains on Sunday and Monday as well.

The Indian Meteorological Department says that it may rain in Delhi on Sunday morning. Apart from Delhi-NCR, this rain will also occur in some areas of Rajasthan and Punjab. There is a chance of rain here on Monday as well. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in Mumbai, Konkan and Western Maharashtra for the coming three to four days.

Orange and yellow alert issued:

Orange alert has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department in Raigad, Pune, Satara and Kolhapur. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued in Mumbai, Thane, Wardha, Palghar, Sindhudurg due to the possibility of rain.

Low pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal:

According to Indian meteorologists, a low pressure area is developing in the Bay of Bengal. This pressure area is likely to move north and northwest in a few days. Due to this, there will be rain in other areas connected with Mumbai as well.

A low pressure area will develop over Odisha also in the next 24 hours. Due to this, it will rain in different parts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Malkangiri, Koraput.

Senior scientist of India Meteorological Department (IMD) R.K. Genmani said on Saturday that heavy rains in Delhi would continue till Sunday morning. It will cover Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Rajasthan. The system forming over East Rajasthan and Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify further. Rains will continue in Delhi till September 17-18.
