Weather Update: Heavy rain forecast in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh this weekend

Monsoon is weak over Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The rain activities are expected to increase over the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh till September 20 and the rains may increase over the entire Uttar Pradesh between September 22 and 25.

New Delhi: Monsoon rains in Delhi are 30% more and Uttar Pradesh is deficient by 5%. According to the weather information website Sky Met Weather, eastern Uttar Pradesh has received 4% excess and western districts of Uttar Pradesh have received very little rain. That's why it has a reduction of 21%.

Rain Alert in Uttar Pradesh:

Monsoon is weak over Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The rain activities are expected to increase over the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh till September 20 and the rains may increase over the entire Uttar Pradesh between September 22 and 25. Moderate to heavy rains may occur over central and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh between September 23 and 25.

Delhi is experiencing dry weather with strong sunshine and partly cloudy sky. Rain activities are expected to start over Delhi and NCR from September 21. These activities may continue for the next 3 to 4 days. That is, there will be a delay in the withdrawal of monsoon from the northern plains including Delhi NCR.

Monsoon rains:

The reason for the onset of Monsoon rains over Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh can be attributed to the cyclonic system over Odisha and adjoining areas, which will move in a northwest direction towards North Madhya Pradesh. The western end of the axis of monsoon trough may also move northwards. These weather parameters will increase the rainfall in both the states.

According to Sky Met, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Odisha, parts of Chhattisgarh, isolated parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, some parts of South Rajasthan and isolated parts of Vidarbha and Telangana.

Light to moderate rain is possible over Sikkim, Northeast India, parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light rain is likely over Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
