Weather Forecast: Rain Alert In Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal, Maharashtra

Weather Today: The influence of clouds has started increasing from the mountains of North India to the plains. There is also a possibility of rain at many places due to clouds in the areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, the system built on the Bay of Bengal has become weak now. Today, on March 07, it will turn into low pressure. A new Western Disturbance will knock on March 8.

Rain alert in Punjab:

Due to the Western Disturbance, for the time being, the temperatures will remain normal in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, they are not expected to fall. There is a possibility of rain in and around Amritsar in Punjab. In spite of very low chances, isolated drizzle is possible over Haryana and Delhi today. Light to very heavy rainfall is likely at many places over Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain is possible over Chamba, Una, Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu-Manali areas in North Himachal Pradesh including Jammu-Katra, Udhampur and Dharamsala. In Uttarakhand, there is a similar possibility in Rishikesh, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Uttarkashi etc. The weather will remain completely dry over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, Northeast states.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), it was earlier feared that there would be heavy rain and stormy winds amidst the continuous humid winds reaching the areas of South India. This would have affected normal life, especially in coastal Tamil Nadu. But, now that the weather system is approaching the coast, it is estimated that its effect will not be seen much on the land parts. However, parts of Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Coimbatore and Puducherry, Chennai will see light to moderate showers today. Similarly, there is a possibility of cloud cover and light rain in some areas including Mysore, Hassan in Kerala, Karnataka. The weather will remain mainly dry over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
