Weather Today: IMD Issues Light Rain & Snowfall Alert In Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh

New Delhi: At present, there is a Western Disturbance over the mountains of North India, due to which the effect of clouds is being seen. Due to which there is a possibility of drizzle in some areas of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan today on March 01. In the coming time, the weather is expected to take a turn in Delhi-NCR as well.

Also, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has expressed the possibility of rain in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. According to the Meteorological Department, on March 2, another disturbance will knock over the mountains, due to which many states will see rain. A cyclonic circulation is likely to cause very heavy rains over South Indian states later this week. A Cyclonic Circulation is currently persisting over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean.

Snowfall in Ladakh:

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain may occur at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir and over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand including Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Ladakh. There is also a chance of snowfall at some places, but it is very less likely. On March 1, the weather will be mainly dry over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, East and West Uttar Pradesh.

Strong north-westerly winds will blow in these areas. In Uttar Pradesh, the effect of westerly winds will remain the same. Here the weather is dry in Agra, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Agra, Bulandshahr, Etah, Etawah, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Bareilly, Lalitpur, Shahjahanpur, Jhansi, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareilly to Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur as well as Varanasi, Mau, Azamgarh etc. Will stay Here westerly winds will blow. The weather will remain cold in these areas during morning and evening. The effect of sunlight will be there during the day.

The weather will remain dry over the areas of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. However, clouds will definitely be seen over some areas including Ranchi, Jamshedpur. Pre-monsoon activities will be seen in some parts here.
