VYAPAM Scam: SC nullifies admission of 634 MBBS students

Bhopal: Supreme Court on Monday cancelled the degrees of 634 doctors who had obtained admissions in various medical colleges of the state through the scam ridden Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board test, popularly called 'Vyapam' test.

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar upheld the earlier order of Madhya Pradesh High Court under Article 142.

Justice Khehar, while ruling his judgement, said, "We have no difficulty in concluding in favour of rule of law... Fraud cannot be allowed to trounce, on the stratagem of public good."

Considered one of India’s biggest scandals, the Vyapam scam triggered a nationwide rage in 2015 after a string of mysterious deaths of witnesses and suspects.
