New Delhi: Unitech Managing Director Sanjay Chandra and his brother Ajay Chandra have been arrested by the economic offence wing (EOW) of Delhi Police on Saturday.

Both the brothers of real estate will be produced at 1400 hours in the Patiala House Court of Delhi.

Chandra was arrested by police when an FIR was filed against him on the complaint of home buyers. He is accused of duping buyers who had booked flats in his Greater Noida residential project. The buyers alleged that Unitech had not completed the project on time and also did not refund their money along with interest.

Earlier, the case was filed against Unitech Ltd chairman Ramesh Chandra, managing directors Sanjay Chandra, Ajay Chandra and director Minoti Bahri by chartered accountant Sanjay Kalra and his business partner Devesh Wadhwa.

Kalra and Wadhwa had booked a property in Habitat Apartments in Greater Noida developed by Unitech.

There are also allegations that Chandra fraudulently took the money of his clients.
