New Delhi: The extradition of Nirav Modi, accused of the Punjab National Bank scam (PNB Scam), has been approved. This information has been given by an official of the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Nirav Modi PNB Scam:

The special thing is that India got success after a long trial in a UK court. Last month, the court accepted the demand to extradite Modi, an economic criminal. This legal battle lasted for about 2 years in a British court. After being brought to India, Modi will be kept in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai.

UK gives approval:

According to the news agency, a CBI official has informed that Nirav Modi has received the approval to bring him to India. He told that the Home Minister of Britain has approved this matter. The process of bringing Modi to India will begin soon. The special thing is that after Modi, the CBI had also clamped down on his brother Nihal Modi.

Nirav Modi's extradition:

On 25 February, a British court ruled in favor of Modi's extradition. A special cell has been prepared for the accused at Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. A prison official was told that after bringing him to India, Modi will be kept in any one of the three cells of barrack number 12. This is a high security barrack. The accused has been in jail since 19 March 2019 on an extradition warrant issued by Scotland Yard.

On 11 May 2020, a hearing was held for the first time in London's Westminster Magistrates' Court over the extradition of Nirav Modi. Modi's team was led by barrister Claire Montgomery. He had set up a big defense system in the court to defend India's charge.
