Two police officers martyred in an encounter in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Two policemen martyred and one was severely injured in an encounter between the maoists from People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) and police officers in Simdega district of Jharkhand.

The incident took place in the late night of Saturday in Raika village. The superintendent of police said, "Police administration in-charge Vidyapati Singh and constable Tarun Burali embraced martyrdom in an encounter."

The injured officer Laurik Singh was immediately taken to nearby hospital where the doctors said that his condition is critical. The doctor said, "We are trying our best to save his life."

The encounter was executed after being tipped off about the presence of maoists in the area. The area has been cordoned off by the officers and investigation is on.
