Two bikers fall to death from Delhi's 'Signature bridge'

The incident occurred at 8.40 a.m. when the youths were heading towards Bhajanpura from Wazirabad.

New Delhi: Two men riding a sportbike were killed in a fatal accident on Friday at Delhi's new Signature Bridge after ramming into a divider and falling into the river.

The incident occurred at 8.40 a.m. when the youths were heading towards Bhajanpura from Wazirabad.

According to the spectators the deceased were speeding on a KTM sportbike and suddenly lost the control and rammed into the divider and fell off in the river Yamuna below.

They were taken to the trauma center where they were declared dead on arrival.

"The two men were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were later declared dead," Deputy Commissioner of Police A.K. Thakur said.

Police said that both of them had suffered severe head injuries due to the fall from a height of around 30 feet.

As the youths were on the bridge's left turn loop police has canceled out any possibility of them performing any stunt on their sportbike, making it an accident case.

"Being a left turn, the possibility of the victims performing stunts has been ruled out," the police said.

The bridge was opened to public on November 4.
