Tragedy Unfolds in J&K: Internet Suspended as Three Found Dead Near Encounter Site

In the wake of a tragic incident near the encounter site where four Army soldiers lost their lives, mobile internet services were suspended in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Rajouri districts. The soldiers fell victim to a militant attack near Topa Pir in Poonch district, leading to heightened tensions in the region.

Reports indicate that three locals were found dead near the encounter site, raising concerns and prompting senior civil, police, and Army officers to investigate the matter. The individuals were reportedly among a group questioned in connection with the terror attack.

The incident unfolded when a Gypsy and a mini-truck were en route from Bufliaz in Surankote to Thanamandi in Rajouri, where a Rashtriya Rifles unit is stationed. As the vehicles approached Topa Pir, militants ambushed them, resulting in the tragic loss of Army personnel.

A massive search operation is currently underway in the dense forests to locate the terrorists responsible for the attack. General Officer Commanding of Jammu-based White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, and Director General of Police R R Swain inspected the scene, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. The National Investigation Agency has also dispatched a team to the ambush site for further investigation.

The Indian Army and White Knight Corps expressed their tribute, saluting the bravery and sacrifice of the four soldiers engaged in combating terrorism in Surankote. Aerial monitoring with helicopters and the deployment of sniffer dogs are part of the ongoing efforts to track down the terrorists.

As the region grapples with the aftermath of this tragic incident, protests have been reported in the area, underscoring the heightened emotions and security concerns. The suspension of mobile internet services in Poonch and Rajouri reflects the authorities' efforts to manage the situation and prevent the spread of misinformation during this challenging time.
