Thiruvananthapuram: In a very rare incident, a 23-year-old girl cut the genital of a 54-year-old Swami who use to assault the former since five years.

Hari Swami of an hermitage near Kollam was brought to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College hospital on Friday night at around 1240 hours with his genital severely injured.

A team of doctor conducted a plastic surgery of the swami and stated that he is out of danger.

The girl state that he was a frequent visitor to her residence and used to conduct religious ceremonies. He used to assault her since she was in class 12th.

After being unable to bear this excess, she on Friday night slashed the Saint's genital with a knife.

Member of Kerala State Women's Commission Prameela Devi stated that she was proud of the girl for all she did. Devi said, "Such an act by anyone especially when it comes under the guise of a religious tag, irrespective of the religion, is in no way acceptable, as such people should be role models to all.

A case has been registered against the Swami.
