New Delhi: The Supreme Court has stayed the order of the Uttarakhand High Court to order a CBI inquiry against Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on charges of corruption. The Supreme Court has also issued notice on the petition of Trivendra Singh Rawat and Uttarakhand state.

Supreme Court on Trivendra Singh Rawat:

Explain that Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had reached the Supreme Court against the order of Uttarakhand High Court to order a CBI inquiry by registering a case in corruption case. Apart from this, the Uttarakhand government had also filed a special permission petition challenging the order of the High Court in the Supreme Court.

CBI inquiry in corruption case:

The Supreme Court has also issued notice on the petition of Trivendra Singh Rawat and Uttarakhand state. Explain that Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had reached the Supreme Court against the order of Uttarakhand High Court to order a CBI inquiry by registering a case in the corruption case. Apart from this, the Uttarakhand government had also filed a special leave petition challenging the High Court order in the Supreme Court.

On October 27, the Uttarakhand High Court had quashed the case in connection with a video posted on social media accusing the Chief Minister of corruption, while delivering a verdict on the petition of journalist Umesh Sharma.

Retired Professor Harendra Singh Rawat had lodged an FIR against Umesh Sharma in connection with the video put on social media. The High Court, in the order, quashed the said FIR and ordered CBI to investigate and register a case based on the allegations made in the journalist's petition.
