New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the occasion of the 36th State Foundation Day of Arunachal Pradesh. He said that we are working with full force to make Arunachal a major gateway to East Asia. In view of the role of Arunachal in terms of national security also, modern infrastructure is being built. He said, 'I firmly believe that Eastern India, and especially Northeast India, will be the engine of the country's growth in the 21st century. In this spirit, unprecedented work has been done in the last 7 years to accelerate the development of Arunachal Pradesh.

He said that on the elixir of independence, the country is also remembering all the martyrs of Arunachal Pradesh, who dedicated themselves for the nation. Be it the Anglo-Abor war or the security of the border after independence, the stories of valor of the people of Arunachal are a priceless heritage for every Indian.

He said that many many congratulations to all of you on the 36th State Foundation Day of Arunachal Pradesh. 50 years ago NEFA got a new name, new identity as Arunachal Pradesh. This identity of the rising sun, this new energy has been continuously strengthened by all of you hardworking, patriotic sisters and brothers in these 50 years.

PM Modi said that the way the people of the state have preserved the cultural heritage is an inspiration for the country. "The spirit of patriotism and social harmony that Arunachal Pradesh took to new heights, the way you preserved your cultural heritage, in which you are carrying forward tradition and progress together, is an inspiration to the nation," he said. He further said that the saga of valor of the people of Arunachal Pradesh is an invaluable legacy for every Indian.

PM Modi said, 'We are working to make Arunachal a major gateway to East Asia. Keeping in view the role of Arunachal in relation to national security, modern infrastructure has been established. Nature has endowed Arunachal with many of its treasures. You have made nature a part of life. We are trying to take this tourism potential of Arunachal to the whole world.
