The local hoteliers, who had faced a lean summer season due to floods, are now elated with the surge in reservations after the snowfall. Bilal Sheikh, a local tourist guide, expressed optimism, stating, "Be it taxi, hotel, everyone is now hopeful. Tourists have started rushing here." The revival of business after a prolonged dry spell is a welcomed change for the hoteliers.

Naresh Kumar, a local hotelier, voiced hope that continuous snowfall would further boost tourist footfall in the city. The weather department's forecast of more snowfall in the upcoming days adds to the anticipation of increased tourist arrivals.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the Western Himalayan Region and select areas of Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness rainfall in the coming days. The picturesque Tikkar area of the Nawar valley in Shimla district and the Kharapathar area experienced a blanket of snow, painting a serene picture of nature's grandeur.

The significance of tourism for Himachal Pradesh's economy cannot be overstated. According to state tourism department data, in 2019, nearly 17,20,000 tourists visited the state, including 4,00,000 foreign tourists, marking a 5 percent increase compared to 2018.
