Commander level meet: Ind & China agree to talk to avoid aggravation of situation

New Delhi: The meeting between India and China at corp commander level was held on Monday. This meeting was started in morning and continued till mid night.

India China to talk on ground level:

According to sources, During 6th Corps Commander level talks, China asked India to vacate the positions taken over by it on south bank of Pangong Tso after Aug 29. India insisted that China should move back to the positions which existed before April-May'20 timeframe in Eastern Ladakh sector.

India and China have agreed to continue talking to each other on the ground and keep lines of communication open to avoid the aggravation of the situation.

The meeting was last of 13 hours from early morning to late night. The commanders of both the side met after almost two months to each other like this. 14 Corps Chief Lt Gen Harinder Singh, Lt Gen PGK Menon along with a Joint Secretary from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). These officers attended the meeting from the Indian side at Moldo on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
