Continuous snowfall in the mountains has increased the cold in the plains. Amid the severe cold conditions across North India, the India Meteorological Center (IMD) has issued a fog alert for several northern and north-eastern states during the next four days.

At the same time, according to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain in many South Indian states.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is going to be severe cold in Delhi during the weekend. There is a possibility of dense fog along with melting in the morning. People have been advised to leave their homes in the morning only when absolutely necessary.

At present, the mercury in Delhi remains below 10 degrees continuously. Talking about Rajasthan, there is a possibility of fog in Shekhawati area during the next four days. At the same time, people have got some relief from the snowfall in Jaipur due to drizzle on Saturday morning.

According to the Meteorological Department, dense to very dense fog is likely to prevail in the morning in different parts of Punjab during the next four days. IMD has also warned of dense fog conditions in the morning hours in different parts of Haryana during the next three days.

According to Skymet Weather report, light to moderate rain and snowfall is possible over Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next 2 days. At the same time, there is a possibility of light rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep on 23 and 24 December.
