SHAME! Azam takes on Indian Army, sparks controversy

Rampur: Samajwadi Party senior leader Azam Khan clarified over the derogatory remark against Indian Army saying that his statement was completely based on the reports published in media and he was misquoted.

Earlier, making derogatory remarks against the Indian Army, Azam Khan had said excesses by army jawans, in areas like Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Jharkhand, force women to chop off their private parts in an attempt of revenge.

"Soldiers have been beaten by women in Kashmir, Jharkhand and Assam and their private parts were also chopped off... India's truth is that women are forced to act against Army rapists. It is a message that Hindustan should be ashamed of," said Khan in his bastian Rampur.

"India is deviating from its path after six decades and is adopting the path of bullet instead of ballot and the result is there for everybody to see," the former Uttar Pradesh minister added.

His statement stirred controversy all across the nation and gave opposition a reason to launch scathing attack on him.

Urging Samajwadi Party to sack Azam for his shameful remark, the Bharatiya Janata Party said people have made it a common thing to demean the Indian Army.

"He has yet again demeaned the Indian Army and I hope his party will sack him," said Sambit Patra.

Crying for attention, Azam is also known for giving controversial remarks.
