Shaheed Diwas: Here's what Bhagat Singh penned for Farmers!

New Delhi: The Shaheed Diwas or Martyr's Day in India celebrated every year on March 23. On this day Super Heros of Indian Freedom lost their lives. Here we are talking about Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru.

On February 2, 1931, about two months before the hanging, Bhagat Singh wrote a letter to the young political workers. The goals of the revolution, which Bhagat Singh had set in his letter, included the end of the Zamindari system and the forgiveness of farmers' debts. In this letter, he has mentioned the farmers many times.

Shaheed Diwas and Bhagat Singh's letter:

Bhagat Singh's grandson says, Bhagat Singh writes… If the country has to fight, the workers, peasants and general public will have to be brought forward. They have to be organized for the fight. Leaders do not do anything to bring them forward yet, nor can they…. Along with the foreign rule these farmers have to be saved from the landlords and the capitalists… Our main goal should be the organization of workers and peasants.

Bhagat Singh's relation with Farmers:

Bhagat Singh's family has a very old relationship with the farmers. That is why, in the Farmers Movement, you also find a photo of Bhagat Singh. For this reason, the farmer leader Rakesh Tikait called upon the martyrs of Shaheed Bhagat Singh to join the movement wearing their favorite yellow turban on the martyrdom day.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh's great-grandson Yadavindra Singh Sandhu is continuously supporting the farmers' movement. He is often seen with farmers. When they go to the villages, even today, they are talking about the farmers.

Bhagat Singh was first arrested from Lahore in 1927, when a bombing occurred on the occasion of Dussehra. On 17 August 1928, Bhagat killed Sanders and escaped. 8 April 1929, bombs were hurled in the Central Assembly (today's Parliament) and arrested. On March 21, 1931, two days before Fasi, Todar Singh also met Bhagat Singh in Lahore Jail.
