Severe cold wave from Rajasthan-Punjab to UP-Bihar, heavy rains predicted in some states

With the beginning of the new year, cold wave conditions have also started showing its effects. The severe cold that has been prevailing for the past few days is now making the situation more difficult for the people along with dense fog. But this is nothing right now.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a severe drop in temperature and cold wave in some parts of Central India between January 5 and 11. IMD has predicted a drop in temperatures from January 5 to 11, which is likely to cause severe cold wave conditions in many states of North India. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding moderate to heavy rain in many states during the next 48 hours.

The IMD forecast includes dense to very dense fog over some plains of northwest and eastern India. Cold day to severe cold day has been declared in the areas of Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan. The weather department has predicted heavy rain and strong winds (up to 40-50 kmph) in Lakshadweep in the next three days, with fishermen advised not to venture into the sea.

The Meteorological Department has declared a cold day in many states of North India due to severe cold. According to the Meteorological Department, cold day conditions will prevail in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. At the same time, IMD has also predicted more than normal rainfall in Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in the month of January.

Dense to very dense fog may occur over many parts of Punjab and Haryana, parts of Uttar Pradesh and some places of Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. Dense fog may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and parts of Northeast India. Cold day to severe cold day conditions are possible in many parts of Punjab.
