Severe cold in Delhi, dense fog alert in UP-Bihar

Severe cold wave conditions continued to persist in some parts of the country.

Due to dense fog along with the cold, normal life is being severally affected. Traffic is also affected due to low visibility at many places. The minimum temperature in the country's capital Delhi was recorded at 4.3 degrees Celsius on Saturday, which is four degrees less than this season's average. Dense fog is present in many states including UP, Bihar, Rajasthan.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a fresh western disturbance may affect the western Himalayan region from January 28. According to IMD, light rain may occur in many states. Due to snowfall on the mountains, cold winds have once again intensified in the plains.

Apart from this, another western disturbance may affect the western Himalayan region and adjacent plains of northwest India from January 31. Due to these, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some parts of the country during the next 2 days. IMD said that between January 28 and January 31, there is a possibility of heavy rain or snowfall at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. IMD has said in its forecast that there is a possibility of snowfall in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad as well as some areas of Himachal Pradesh.

IMD has issued orange alert due to dense fog and cold day in UP and Bihar. Apart from this, very dense fog is expected in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh and Bihar today.

According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of rain in some parts for the next 3-4 days. According to IMD, there can now be relief from the harsh cold in the plains of the country. There may be an increase in minimum temperature. According to IMD, the temperature is likely to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius over many parts of Central and East India as well as West India during the next 2 days.
