Khalistani terrorist Gurvatwant Singh Pannu has threatened to blow up Air India planes on 19 November.

A video has been issued asking all Sikhs not to travel on this flight on that day. After Pannu's threat, now the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has stepped up security at the airports and also stopped the entry of visitors coming to Delhi and Punjab airports.

The Security Bureau has banned the issuance of entry passes for that day. This ban will continue till the end of this month.

The order said there will be a ban on the issuance of Temporary Airport Entry Pass (TAEP) and sale of entry tickets to visitors in the terminal building of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Delhi airport has suspended entry passes of visitors till the end of the month. Secondary ladder point check, in which passengers and their hand bags are checked again just before boarding, has also been made mandatory for Air India flights in Punjab.

The air safety regulator says these precautionary measures were taken following the threat to civil aviation facilities such as airports, airstrips, aerodromes, air force stations, helipads, flying schools and aviation training schools across India.

India has also requested Canada to increase security for AI flights and take action against Pannu for issuing threats.

Sikh for Justice Gurpatwant Singh Pannu had released a video on 4 November. In the video, Pannu had threatened to blow up the Air India flight on November 19. Pannu said that all Sikh brothers should not travel by Air India flight on November 19 because their lives may be in danger on that day. Apart from this, he had also threatened to close Delhi's airport. Coincidentally, the final of ICC World Cup 2023 will also be held on that day.
